Golf Shafts – quality, precision and the right match for your swing

Here you will find a carefully selected range of golf shafts in various materials, weights, and lengths – so you can precisely tailor your equipment to your swing. A shaft is much more than the connection between your hands and the clubhead – it is the very highway for energy in every shot.

The right combination of shaft length, shaft weight, and shaft flexibility affects how the ball launches, how high it flies, and how consistently you hit the fairway. Whether you choose a lightweight graphite shaft for your driver or a stable steel shaft for your irons, the choice of shaft has a huge impact on tempo, control, and precision.

What is the difference between steel shafts and graphite shafts?

Let’s make it easy: here is the difference between the most common shaft materials.

Shaft Type Advantages Disadvantages / Notes
Steel Shafts Stability, precision, solid feedback Higher weight requires more swing power
Graphite Shafts Lightweight, vibration-dampening, more comfort Less feedback – a bit harder to control
Composite Shafts Combines steel and graphite, optimized balance Often higher price but with strong properties

Steel shafts are for those seeking shaft control, solidity, and robustness. They feel firmer, have less flex and provide more precise ball flight.
Graphite shafts are better suited if you play with a lower swing speed – they are lightweight shafts that help you generate more speed and distance.
Many newer composite shafts combine the benefits of both materials and offer better weight distribution, flexibility, and vibration dampening.

A small tip:

  • Do you have a fast swing speed? Choose a slightly heavier shaft for stability.
  • Do you have moderate tempo? Choose a lighter shaft for more speed and fewer mishits.

With us, you will find both driver shafts, iron shafts, wood shafts and hybrid shafts, so you can achieve a consistent feel and weight throughout the set.

Technical Guide: Flex, length and shaft type

Flex describes how much a golf shaft bends during your swing. It may seem like small details, but flex has a direct effect on the ball's height, direction, and feel.

Typical flex Categories

Designation Flex Type Fits to
Ladies (L) Very flexible Players with low swing speed (<70 mph)
Senior (A) Softer flex Players with moderate pace (70–85 mph)
Regular (R) Medium stiffness Average swing speed (85–95 mph)
Stiff (S) Less flexible Fast swings (>95 mph)
X-stiff (X) Very stiff shafts Very high speeds (>105 mph)

In short:

  • A softer shaft (e.g. Regular or Senior) can help you achieve longer shots.
  • A stiffer shaft provides more accuracy and lower spin.

Golf shaft length also matters. A shorter shaft offers better control and precision, while a longer shaft increases potential distance – but requires timing and a stable rhythm.

Other important parameters:

  • Shaft profile: how the shaft bends during the swing (low, mid, or high kickpoint).
  • Shaft torsional stability: how much the shaft twists during impact.
  • Vibration dampening: how well the shaft reduces vibrations in the hands.

A custom fit solution helps you find the precise combination of shaft stiffness, material, weight, and length, so you get the best feel – and avoid slice or hook.

Quality, brands, and transparency

When selling and buying used golf equipment, we receive many different brands, but often quality brands such as: KBS, Fujikura, True Temper, and Mitsubishi. All shafts are tested and meet requirements for dimensions and precision.

Each shaft undergoes a manual quality control, where we assess:

  • The shaft's load (how it reacts during the swing)
  • Visual condition and robustness
  • Fit of grip, weight, and balance point

We describe the condition accurately as it is and take pictures of everything – strengths and any wear – so you know exactly what you're getting. This means security whether you're chasing maximum control, better comfort, or higher feel in your shots.

A premium shaft not only provides more distance – it offers noticeable forgiveness, a more consistent ball flight, and consistent performance over time.

Don't forget to check out our selection of clubheads and grips. It's the combination of head, shaft, and grip that provides real synergy in the swing.

How to choose the right shaft

When choosing, look at these key points:

  1. Shaft material – Steel, graphite, or composite depends on your strength and rhythm.
  2. Flex – Matching flex with your swing speed leads to more stable hits.
  3. Shaft weight – Lighter shafts provide speed, heavier ones provide control.
  4. Shaft length – Longer shafts require good technique; shorter shafts provide precision.
  5. Shaft type – Match driver, irons, and hybrids for a uniform feel.

If you want to dive a little deeper, you can compare models – for example:

Feature Light shaft (graphite) Heavy shaft (steel)
Swing tempo Lower Faster
Ball height Higher Lower and more controlled
Vibration dampening Better Less
Forgiveness Very good High - with precise feedback

Our recommendations

Are you new to the course? Start with a lightweight graphite shaft. It makes the swing more fluid and helps the ball get airborne.
If you play regularly and have a good swing speed, choose a steel shaft or stiff shaft – they provide more precision and lower ball flight.

A few tips from experience:

  • If you have a fast swing speed but a high ball flight, try a shaft with a higher kickpoint.
  • If you experience a slice, consider a softer shaft – it helps the clubface close properly at impact.
  • Does the shaft feel “dead”? Try a different shaft profile or lower torque (twist stability).

With us, you always get a 14-day trial period – so you can test feel and performance in practice.
